Longxihu Park was originally a modest lakeside greenbelt, featuring only a single perimeter trail and sparse vegetation; situated in a remote location, it was rarely visited. The primary objective of the landscape renovation was to transform the site into a new type of ecological park for local residents—one that seamlessly integrates recreation, leisure, and fitness activities. The project is organized into three distinct functional zones, interconnected by an urban greenway network. The Western Ecological Zone primarily features a celebration and gathering lawn, a rain garden, and a greenway service station. The Central Vitality Zone encompasses fitness and recreational facilities, areas for seniors to play board and card games, and a non-motorized playground designed for children of all ages. The Eastern Zone serves as a Civic Activity Center, housing a comprehensive array of venues such as a central plaza, the "Cloud-Water Zen" courtyard, and a wedding lawn. The result is a civic park that remains open to the public 24 hours a day.
